Tanzania Resilient Agriculture Initiative (TRAI)
Focus
Promotes climate-smart farming, soil restoration, and resilient food systems that support both communities and ecosystems.
Tanzania Resilient Agriculture Initiative (TRAI) by the Sustainable Earth Foundation promotes eco-friendly farming practices that protect the environment while improving food security and rural livelihoods across Tanzania. This initiative empowers farmers to adopt climate-smart, organic, and regenerative farming techniques that restore soil fertility, conserve water, and enhance biodiversity.
Through community training, demonstration farms, and access to sustainable technologies, the programme supports smallholder farmers—especially women and youth—to increase productivity without harming the environment. By integrating agriculture with conservation, the programme helps build resilient communities, healthier ecosystems, and a greener future for Tanzania.
Permaculture: A Path to Regenerative Farming
As part of our Sustainable Agriculture Programme, the Sustainable Earth Foundation promotes permaculture as a holistic approach to farming that works in harmony with nature. Permaculture focuses on designing agricultural systems that are self-sustaining, resilient, and ecologically balanced, ensuring long-term food security and environmental health.
Agroforestry Farming Systems
In this program we integrate trees, crops, and livestock to restore soil health, conserve water, and enhance ecosystem resilience. This approach not only improves farm productivity and income but also supports biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation, offering communities a sustainable path to food security and environmental stewardship.
