Wetlands Conservation

Wetlands are critical ecosystems in Tanzania, supporting biodiversity, agriculture, fisheries, and water regulation. They provide habitats for numerous plant and animal species, filter and store water, and help communities adapt to climate change. However, wetlands are increasingly threatened by deforestation, drainage, pollution, and unsustainable farming, which degrade these vital ecosystems.

The Sustainable Earth Foundation works to protect, restore, and sustainably manage wetlands across Tanzania, promoting biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and ecosystem resilience. By engaging local communities, our programs ensure that wetlands continue to provide essential environmental and economic benefits for generations to come.
